I stumbled upon the 15 laws of life and laughed when I saw the last law;

“All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything.” By Swami Vivekananda

It tied in beautifully with my last post of all we know from the sum 1 + 0 = 1. So why is oneness the secret of everything in the universe?

In Maths you are taught the ten numbers to correlate to your fingers but when you really inspect what you are doing, you realise that what ever the number is that you are looking at, that number only exists because it is a collection of ones. If we take for example the number six: this number is only a collection of six ones there is no such thing as a six.  Bigger numbers are only made by adding one to the number that goes before it. In this way we create all that we know; all scales, sizes, dimensions, distances etc.  And all these start in exactly the same way; all begin with nothing and then move to one. In other words the correct citing of the above sum should only ever be  0 + 1 = 1.

So this secret of one; Could it be that the true secret lies in the fact that we have, if we were completely honest, absolutely no idea of how this one was created? We have added nothing to it. We never will.  In this universe in which we exist, we are also the one. When you think about it you realise that you can not make another one of yourself, entirely by yourself. You are singularly one. In this world the only thing you can be certain of is yourself. But YOU? What are you?

When you inspect yourself, you are left with the distinct feeling that you are made from two parts. A physical exterior- body and an interior ‘you’. Your feelings, your thoughts:- they belong to no one but yourself. From this I think that maybe the secret to the world is not oneness but halves. I’ll ‘half’ to talk about that the next time! xP
